Akhtar (born 9 January 1974) is a well-known Actor, screenwriter, dialogue writer, lyricist, producer, and television host from India best known for his work in Hindi movies. Akhtar made his formal screen debut with the musical drama Rock On! Akhtar started his acting career with a delayed release in The Fakir of Venice theater. Still, he made his official film debut with the musical drama The Fakir of Venice. This film won him the second National Film Award for Best Hindi Film as a producer and Best Male Debut Award winner in the movie in 2008. He wrote the dialogues and the production for the highly successful buddy-road film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Filmfare Awards. Farhan Akhtar was born in Mumbai, India, the second child of screenwriters Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani. He has one older sister, Zoya Akhtar, who is a writer-director herself. He was very young when his parents divorced; his father married actress Shabana Azmi in 1984 when he was just 15 years old.
